Karen emailed this one to me a few months back. It is a HUGE hit, for sure. Makes a ton of food, enough to supplement my 2 male GSDs for a week at each meal. Doesn't cost too much either, really. I should go back to making a batch of this on the weekends and cut my kibble bill way, way down lol

I have started watching at the local store for when they reduce the chicken for quick sale and buy it for 49 cents per pound. Then I freeze it for later. Even cuts down the expenses more. Just watching the sales and stocking up on supplies makes it really economical.

What do you think of a Recipes forum? Perhaps get rid of one of the ones we don't use.

Yesterday we made a huge batch - it filled a 5 gallon bucket!! I added ingredients and Michelle stirred it together. She was up to her elbows in dog food!!!Lawls sign I froze most of it for later. Needless to say both dogs rushed to their feeding stations once I served it up. Tails were a wagging last night!Gapped

Hello! I'm interested in this recipe because I just read about Nutro making too many dogs sick. (Is that what you understand?)

The recipe looks great. Do you need to reheat it after it gets mixed? Also, after freezing and thawing, does it do better reheating on the stovetop or in the oven?

I'm not too happy w/NutroCrying ; I even called them and they assured me their ingredients were healthy.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Ellen,
DO NOT FEED NUTRO ANYMORE, I ALMOST LOST MY GSD MALE DUE TO NUTRO. I WILL LET KAREN KNOW AOBUT YOUR POST, RAW DOG FOOD IS THE BEST, BUT NOT EVERYONE CAN DO IT. THERE IS A RAW DOG FOOD SITE I HAVE POSTED ON HERE TOO...I THINK IT IS WWW.RAWDOGRANCH.COM
Alot of dogs are allergic to grain, so be careful with that.
